How Does the Process Work?

Prescribers provide prescriptions for their established patients.

Prescriptions can be provided via:

Electronic Prescribing or Facsimile

Prescriber may send an electronic or faxed prescription for a Brand name product in a strength the pharmacy carries.
In the notes field, annotation must state "OK to use compounded product."

Blanket Authorization

Prescriber can opt to fax a blanket authorization approving automatic substitution to compounded medication.

Utilize Compounding in Electronic Medical Record

Prescriber may build compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide into their EMR.
To simplify the process, NDC can be provided for each available dosage.

Monthly cost includes:

  • A multidose vial of prescribed compounded medication, stable at room temperature for 56 days
  • Necessary supplies (syringes, alcohol swabs)
  • Educational material, including a QR code for instructions for subcutaneous administration
  • Shipping
